Who sang New York City’s true anthem better? Frank Sinatra and Jay-Z both have recorded sensational hits declaring their love for the city that never sleeps. Sinatra’s 1980’s hit, “New York, New York” still lives in on people’s hearts today while Jay-Z’s catchy hip-hop tune, “Empire State of Mind,”has become the anthem for all celebrated NY sport victories. Jay-Z claims he’s “the new Sinatra” in the hit song also, but does the Hoboken-native Frankie still hold the title for the city’s anthem.

Leading off is Jay-Z’s “Answer the Call” September 11th performance, followed at 11:30 p.m. by “Frank Sinatra: The Main Event”, a concert which originally aired live Oct. 13, 1974.

Beckham said in a press release: “It is amazing to visit a project like this and see the effect football has on young people. Football has the power to change lives and these youngsters are able to learn valuable lessons through their love of the game.

“I feel privileged to have met these children and despite the fact we come from different backgrounds we share a love for the game of football.”

CfH not only teaches football skills, but also promotes social awareness for issues such as AIDS and substance abuse. Access to sport is limited in some areas, and so a CfH tournament aims to boost self-esteem, confidence and build life skills for those who participate.

“Aids is a very real problem in places like Khaylitsha and football must ensure it does whatever it can to help educate young people of its dangers and make a difference,” Beckham concluded.

David Triesman, the FA chairman, added: “It has been inspiring visiting this Coaching for Hope session. Watching the boundless energy and promise of these young people has been an amazing experience.

“Football has a power to inspire change. I am in awe of the coaches here who have the ability to make a difference to the future of these children. “Schemes such as Coaching for Hope make me proud of the work of The FA’s International Development Programme. It is a fantastic example of a project using the universal language of football to help promote positive change in people’s lives.”

The fun and slightly nsfw stuff starts after the jump… Can she get any better? I’ve been crushing on her for quite some time, and she never ceases to amaze the people.

David Letterman took time away from telling jokes Thursday to relay to his audience that he was the victim of an extortion attempt.

During the taping of “The Late Show” Thursday, Letterman also admitted that he’d had sexual relationships with members of his staff, which the alleged extortionist threatened to reveal.

A press release from his company, Worldwide Pants, says Letterman received a package a few weeks ago claiming to have information about relationships Letterman had with female employees of “The Late Show.” The person asked for $2 million to keep quiet.

He then contacted the Manhattan District Attorney’s office, which set up a sting that involved Letterman giving the person a fake check for $2 million. The alleged extortionist was arrested Thursday; no other details about the con artist’s identity are available.

“This morning, I did something I’ve never done in my life,” Letterman told the “Late Show” audience. “I had to go downtown and testify before a grand jury.”

Part of that testimony involved copping to having slept with members of his staff.

“My response to that is, yes I have,” he said. “Would it be embarrassing if it were made public? Perhaps it would. I feel like I need to protect these people — I need to certainly protect my family.”

Letterman married his long-time girlfriend, Regina Lasko, in March. The couple has a 5-year-old son, Harry.

UPDATE: The person arrested in the Letterman case is a fellow CBS employee.

CBS News is reporting that New York police arrested an employee of the network’s newsmagazine “48 Hours” was charged with attempted grand larceny in the case. The man was arrested Thursday.

LOS ANGELES – Michael Jackson’s official autopsy report indicated that the surgical anesthetic propofol in combination with three other sedatives probably stopped the pop star’s breathing and killed him, said an anesthesiologist who reviewed the document.

In a phone interview on Thursday, the doctor, Zeev Kain, the chairman of the anesthesiology department at the University of California, Irvine, said he reviewed the autopsy report, which has not been publicly released, on behalf of The Associated Press. Officials with the Los Angeles Police Department, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office and the Los Angeles County coroner’s office said that they had not released the report and did not know where the leaked information came from.

Dr. Kain said that Mr. Jackson’s arms were covered in multiple needle marks.

“There was evidence of repeated injections,” he said. Mr. Jackson’s knees also had several puncture marks, signs that he had knee surgery and received shots to reduce joint inflammation, Dr. Kain said.

Mr. Jackson also had reduced lung capacity due to chronic inflammation, Dr. Kain said.

“It’s an unusual finding,” Dr. Kain said. “It looked like from the pathology report that he had this condition for years, but it’s very hard to know what the reason was.”

Mr. Jackson weighed 136 pounds, stood 5-foot-9 and was free of major illnesses or serious organ damage. He suffered from arthritis of the spine and fingers, lacked pigmentation on his chest, and was balding, but otherwise was in relatively good health, Dr. Kain said.

Dr. Kain also said the autopsy report indicated the extent to which Mr. Jackson had gone to stave off old age; there were cosmetic surgery scars behind his ears and nostrils, as well scars on his neck, wrists, arms and stomach. He said Mr. Jackson also had several tattoos: on his scalp to hide his receding hairline, his eyebrows, and a pink tattoo around his lips.

Mr. Jackson died on June 25 after his personal physician, Dr. Conrad Murray, administered propofol and other drugs to help the pop singer’s insomnia. After putting Mr. Jackson under, Dr. Murray went to the bathroom, according to his statements to investigators. By the time Dr. Murray returned, Mr. Jackson had stopped breathing and was never revived. His death was ruled a homicide by the Los Angeles County coroner’s office.

The Los Angeles Police Department and the California Attorney General’s Office are investigating Dr. Murray and other doctors who allegedly provided Mr. Jackson with illegal prescriptions for various drugs.
